Use case
Sharpr for Chiefs of Staff
Right now, you are the search engine
Your CEO asks what the company knows about a market. You have forty minutes before the next meeting. So you message three people, open two shared drives, find a deck from last year that might be relevant, and give an answer that is roughly eighty percent confident.
We have watched this happen in enough organizations to know the problem is structural. You sit at the center of the information flow and own almost none of it. Research belongs to insights. Numbers belong to FP&A. Competitive work belongs to strategy. Customer feedback belongs to CX. The consultant deck belongs to whoever was on the email.
Sharpr is where all of that goes so you can stop being the retrieval layer. We have been building knowledge management software for enterprise teams since 2011, and the office of the CEO is one of the places it pays off fastest.
The five things that eat your week
Board prep turns into archaeology. Every quarter you reconstruct context that already exists somewhere. Somebody commissioned a segmentation study eighteen months ago. Somebody else has the competitor pricing work. Assembling the pre-read costs you a week you did not have.
The same question keeps arriving. Different executive, different week, same question. What do we know about adoption in this segment? Did we ever test this pricing model? What happened last time we tried this in EMEA? Each one is an hour.
You find out about duplicate research from an invoice. Two business units buy overlapping studies. Nobody notices until the numbers land in the same budget review. In a large company this quietly runs into six figures a year.
Executive transitions land on your desk twice. Someone joins and needs three months of context in three weeks. Someone leaves and takes an undocumented map of the business with them. You absorb both.
Decisions drift. A call gets made at an offsite. Six months later nobody can find the analysis behind it, so the debate reopens from scratch.
What we built
One hub for what the company knows
Research reports, consultant decks, syndicated subscriptions, internal analysis, recorded interviews, dashboards, and articles go into one place. Sharpr tags, summarizes, and connects them automatically as they arrive, so the organizing work does not fall to you.
Content gets in three ways: direct upload, integrations with the file storage and collaboration tools your teams already use, and Sharp It, our browser bookmarklet. Sharp It is the unglamorous feature people end up loving. Drag it to your bookmarks bar, click it on any web page, and the page is in your hub with the source preserved. Competitor announcements, regulatory notices, trade coverage, analyst commentary. One click, no copying links into a spreadsheet you will abandon in March.
Search that takes a question, not a filename
Our GenAI search works in plain language. Ask what the last three studies concluded about churn in small business accounts and you get the relevant material with summaries attached. You can decide in ninety seconds whether it answers the question or whether you need to commission something new.
This matters most in the twenty minutes before a meeting, when what you need is a defensible position you can hand to your principal.
Briefs that write most of themselves
The harder half of your job is getting the right thing in front of an executive at the moment it is useful. That is what our push side does.
Build an executive brief that assembles automatically. Schedule a leadership newsletter cut by role. Set alerts so your CFO hears about competitor rate moves and your COO hears about supply chain analysis without either of them logging in. Plenty of Chiefs of Staff use this to replace the Monday email they were writing by hand every week. Sharpr pulls the week's new material on the topics leadership cares about, you edit the framing, it goes.
Analytics, which is evidence for two arguments
Our reporting shows what gets opened, by whom, how often. That gives you two things you did not have.
The first is ammunition for the research budget conversation, because you can show which studies drove engagement and which sat untouched. The second is an early warning on your own distribution. If the regional presidents have never opened a market brief, you would rather learn that from a report than from a bad moment in a meeting.
Access control that matches how an executive office works
Board material, compensation analysis, and pre-announcement strategy cannot sit in the same open library as general market research. Sharpr supports separate hubs with role-based access, so the board sees a board hub, the executive team sees a broader one, and the wider organization sees a general library. Same system, different doors.
Three things our customers do in the first month
Rebuild the board pre-read from primary sources. Run one search across the last four quarters of category research, competitor material captured through Sharp It, and customer studies. Use the AI summaries to triage forty documents in an afternoon. Every claim in the deck links to the source, so when a director asks where a number came from, you answer in the room.
Onboard an executive without twenty meetings. Give the incoming Chief Commercial Officer a curated hub: two years of market sizing, the pricing work, win/loss, customer research, and the strategy documents that produced the current plan. He reads on his own schedule. You check the engagement analytics to see what he has covered, then spend your live time on the gaps.
Kill one duplicate study. Before approving a six figure segmentation project, search first. More often than you would expect, a sister business unit ran something comparable eleven months ago and the scope can drop to a refresh. One catch like that pays for the platform.
Keeping decisions from drifting
Nobody writes follow-through into the job description, but it is most of the job. The usual fix is a tracker, which works until the tracker becomes another document nobody opens.
A hub built around the decision holds up better. The recommendation, the evidence, the options that were considered and set aside, and the progress updates all sit together and stay searchable. When the question comes back, and it will, you can put the original reasoning in front of the room in under a minute instead of relitigating from memory.
Some Chiefs of Staff run a standing quarterly brief that resurfaces the prior period's decisions with their supporting material attached. It keeps the leadership team honest without anyone having to play enforcer.
What we are not
We would rather you find this out here than in month three.
Sharpr is not a project management tool. We do not track tasks, own your OKRs, or replace whatever you use for status reporting. We are not a general collaboration suite either, and we are not trying to be your intranet.
We are also not the right call if your organization produces little research and buys none. If the knowledge problem you have is that there is no knowledge, a platform will not fix it.
What we do is hold what your company knows, make it findable, and get it to the right people. If that is the bottleneck, we are a good fit. If it is not, we will tell you on the demo.
Security, briefly
Your board material and pre-announcement strategy live here, so this part is not optional. We are GDPR compliant and ISO 27001 compliant, running on SOC 2 aligned cloud infrastructure, with enterprise DPAs available.
Authentication runs through SSO with ADFS, Okta, SAML 2.0, or Google Workspace, with custom SSO available through our API. User management includes SCIM 2.0 provisioning, role-based access down to individual content, and bulk lifecycle and offboarding workflows, so access ends when employment does without you having to remember.
Data is AES-256 encrypted at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, with logical tenant isolation, encrypted backups, DDoS protection, redundant servers, annual disaster recovery testing, and 24/7 monitoring.
Two objections we hear constantly
"My executives will ignore another system." Probably true, and we designed around it. The people who will never log in still get briefs, newsletters, and alerts in their inbox. Adoption does not depend on a senior leader developing a new habit.
"How is this different from SharePoint?" SharePoint stores files. It will tell you a document exists. We tell you what it concluded, connect it to related work, and send it to the person who needs it. Different job.
Start with your next board meeting
Take the pre-read you are already dreading and build it in Sharpr instead. Bring the real materials to the demo. You will know inside an hour whether this gives you your week back.
Whatever you use today, we migrate it free of charge, including content, permissions, users, and archives. Request a demo and we will show you the version of this that fits your office.
